There's nothing like a sweet couple and a precious baby bump to photograph on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon!
I don't even mind driving an hour and a half for a shower when it takes place in one of the most BEAUTIFUL homes I've ever set foot in. I had such a nice time celebrating the arrival of sweet Mary Catherine!
It isn't hard to take pretty pictures when you're photographing the picture of child perfection.
Add that in with some sunshine and Spring flowers and you've got a winning combo!
This year, I had the opportunity to shoot Friday Night Lights at my gym.
In CrossFit, each year there's an Open. During the Open, any athlete can register and compete. They release a new workout each week and you have four days to complete it and submit your score. The most elite will be chosen to go on to the next level of competition.
The Open is so much fun and we all participate each year even though none of us have a hope or a prayer of making it to the next round. But it's just one more way we can come together as a community and do something we enjoy. Our gym hosts a Friday Night Lights event each Friday during the Open where we all do the workout together and then go do something fun afterwards.
These athletes, man. They're so inspiring! We have first timers and veterans competing this year and it was such a joy watching each and every one of them push themselves to new levels!
It's hard to pick favorites -- mainly because I have hundreds of photos from each night, but here are a few of mine!
When I first graduated from college, I worked with the best little organization here in Birmingham called Magic Moments. Although the job wasn't meant to be forever, I'm still close to the women who work there and I still volunteer and provide photography services quite often.
Recently, the MM ladies reached out to me about capturing a reveal for a local child who's "magic moment" was a trip to Disney World. A reveal is when the organization, usually in conjunction with a local volunteer or business, surprises the child with the news that their wish is coming true.
Needless to say, I was thrilled to be there. Nothing will make your day quite like seeing a little girl who's battled a chronic illness find out that she's getting the trip of a lifetime.
